Late on the Saturday night, whilst my family were all tucked up in bed, I snaked out again (Well, I told my brother and my dad, I think...) and went for a lengthy night time stroll. I knew I couldn't get lost, I'd learned most of the layout earlier in the day, though I still ended up in so much darkness at some points, darker than any city will ever get. At one point I wandered out into the middle of the woods, far far away from any of the roads, paths or tourist-y bits and was in so much darkness with the moonlight completely blocked by the tree canopy. It was immense and I can't stop smiling looking back on it now. (Don't worry, I did take a torch and I was careful) Unfortunately nothing but pitch blackness tends not to make interesting photos so we'll have to make do with these.
These were all taken around between midnight and 1:00am on Saturday 2017-09-02 night / Sunday 2017-09-03 morning. The weather was almost clear, a bit of lingering cloud, and an almost full moon, not quite enough for any interesting moonlight pictures but I think I did okay.
Enjoy!
I see you light!
Moonlight over the lake!
I was hesitant to post this one since its of the identifiable tourist-y parts but I just like it too much.
I've no idea who decided to put a light on the waterfall but thank you!
I'm so proud that I actually managed to catch the water here!
Does it look more like ice or wire? Discuss...
Gotta love those esoteric reflections!
Obviously out of focus but what can I say? I love it!
Tried to get a decent shot of the moonlight and tree silhouettes and failed though it still kind-of works I think. Thoughts?
Wide angle shot of the lake at night! What can I say!
Attempting to show how dark it was. I seriously loved that night!
You can almost see the trees!
That night was incredible. I was out for a while after this, wandering into the darker and darker areas to see if there was anything interesting to take pictures of. I was thinking mostly about the moonlight though sadly the weather simply wasn't on my side. Still I'm happy with what I managed to get and so thoroughly enjoyed that little adventure into the dark.
As always, any tips and comments are hugely appreciated!
Thanks for browsing!
Cya soon!
