Keeping it crazy in Snowdonia!

Wow, I could have swore I took more pictures than this!

Well, here's another just one from snowdonia. To be fair I often went out with friends who lived in that part of the world, I tend to take more when I'm alone and I was definitely alone when I took this one!

Well, because I love you (whoever actually reads this) here's one picture that I probably shouldn't post.

Yes, that is looking down from between the rocks on the edge of a very high cliff... and yes, I am crazy... but that shot though! And I knew what I was doing, I was safe and away from the edge, but it obviously goes without saying , DON'T DO THIS KIDS!! I don't mind taking pictures like this so you don't have to, but even I probably wont ever do this again (probably).

Well, that's all for now. As always, any comments and tips (or even questions about my sanity) are always appreciated!

Rivington! My Spiritual Home!

Ah Rivington, where do I start with you.

We're back home now in the north west of England and Rivington Pike is a hill pretty close to my home. I have been up and down that hill more times that I could ever count, seriously, I've been going all over this place since I was a child and still do, so you'll be seeing a LOT of Rivington on this blog.

I take pictures of different stuff each time, not just to keep it fresh but simply because I always find something new each time. Rivington is the epicenter of this hippy's love for nature!

These were taken on 12-4-2014. It was bit cloudy and cold but nothing special, typical English weather.

Down at the bottom, lots of green!

Something about this shot just had to be taken.

Water!

Always wanted to go in those caves but the water is far too deep.

One tree didn't get the memo...

Ducks!

I swear they were all lined up facing the same way. Would have been a great pic!

Did you know you aren't supposed to feed ducks bread?

Apparently they prefer like Birdseed or grapes or something...

Picky little awesome things...

Weird looking duck...

And the dog chased them all away... Ah well.

"Don't grow on the path, they said! The path is for people, they said!"

Love horizon shots.

But not as much as I love water.

I found a rare out-of-focus Robin (It was gone before I could focus on it)

Oh wow, my hair was bad!

Love this shot (friend in the background)

Well, I'm probably going to be posting a lot of pictures from Rivington so might aswell show you the view from the top.

What is it about rolling horizons that enrapture me?

Once again with more green!

I think someone used to keep birds in that building... I just think it looks like something from Harry Potter.

Well, that's a first tiny glance at a place I absolutely love and throughout the future of this blog I'm going to completely show you why. As always tips and comments are greatly appreciated.

Snowdonia 2: Snowdonia Lazier!

Hey all,

Another short one here. Apparently here I only took two pictures... I must have been really lazy three years ago... that or I was just swarmed with uni work... that was probably it!

Well, here's those two... Who said this blog was cheap?

These were taken 8-3-2014, Cold winter but fair weather, somewhere in Snowdonia.

I'm quite happy with these... I just need to make sure I take more than two in future!

As always, and comments and tips are hugely appreciated!

Snowdonia: The first of many!

To make up for my one picture last time, here's many!

Well, I went to university near Snowdonia in north Wales and with all of Snowdonia on my doorstep, how could I not get out there? I went out pretty much every weekend/every other weekend for years.

Now, this is where this blog immediately runs into a problem... Obviously there are lots of mountains in Snowdonia, not just Snowdon, and like the incredibly hardworking and ingenious student I was, I didn't label a single one of these pictures with which mountain I took them on...
I have the dates... just not the location beyond... Snowdonia... I know that all the groups of pictures that I blog together were taken on the same day and same mountain so these are all the one walk...

But we'll be fine because all of Snowdonia is B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L so I'm going to post the pictures anyway because I have hundreds of pictures and no social life!

If any of you can tell where these pictures were taken do PLEASE get in touch, I would hugely appreciate it (I might make it a competition or something...) So, without further ado, these pictures were taken 1-3-2014... somewhere in Snowdonia... Weather was cold with some snow on the higher grounds, sky was fairly cloudy though cleared up around midday.

Little bit of morning cloud and mist still hanging over, I figured it'd help get the scale and atmosphere in there.

Quite a lot going on but I liked how the picture almost rolls away down the valley and up the other side with the mountains behind rolling away again behind, right to left.

With woods...

Without woods. I think with woods worked better, more colours, richer contrasts. What do you think?

Okay, I just love this one, all the shades of Snowdonia in winter.

Sheep! Okay, it was the first time I had a subject matter that moved, I didn't really know what to do with it...

Again, I love scale and how this just rolls away from you.

It was as cold as it looked.

It's all atmospheric and stuff!

It's so surreal being on the same level as clouds but not in them. Love those moments.

Looks like rain over there...

Hmm... Maybe should have put the bottom right more in the centre. I get what i was going for though.

Horse!

Horse with fringe!

"You got some conditioner, mate?"

This might be one of my favourites.

Or this...

Stoic...  Should I have focussed more on the sky? I think I was trying to get the height but there's not much scale there so... Lesson learned.

Playing more with those 'rolling away' pictures. This one works better I think.

That rain had followed me in all day...

Blue sky!

Near the summit now (maybe...)

Love how the snow drips down these mountains

Low how tall that one is!

If the orcs come I know where I'm hiding.

Unidentifiable person for scale.

"and I didn't feel like a giant, I felt very, very small." - Neil Armstrong

Shout out to the girl in the pink coat! (Don't worry, I got her permission)

Teeny-tiny people!

And one last wow. Love how you can follow that river so clearly for so long.

Well, I still had quite a lot to learn back than but this was 2014, I've carried on since then and like to think I've improved. As always, any tips and comments are hugely appreciated.
