Chester Zoo - Part 6: My Addendum to the Greatest Show on Earth!

One last zoo post, why not. Soon I'll be bringing winter pictures so why not get one last touch of summer in us before we do. I've, quite simply, saved the best for last as I think this is the best picture of the whole day. Hope you agree. This was taken on 2018-06-05 at Chester Zoo.

Chester Zoo - Part 5: Reptiles. Of course it had to be Reptiles.

Normal service is soon to be resumed, until then here's the final post from Chester Zoo. That day was absolutely incredible and will remain on my 'Highlight reel' perhaps forever. I truly love it and cherish that memory and, most of all, I vehemently look forwards to making more such memories. Thank you to Chester Zoo and thank you to my most amazing companion that day!

Well, without further ado here is the finale. As the day grew on in the heat of the mid-summer sun I did grow more and more tired, so less pictures were taken but after all the hours of practice that day, I feel these may be some of my better pictures. (Plus there were less kids around to fight my way through for a view at this point).

Here they are, the closest thing I'll ever know to true Dragons! The Reptiles! These were all taken on 2018-06-05 at Chester Zoo!

And there it is, my summer event, well into autumn, has come to an end. I cannot tell you how my heart swells every time I think back to that day, so many creatures and such an amazing person I got to spend that day with. It absolutely was a glimpse into the Greatest Show on Earth. If my pictures only managed to capture a slight fragment of that glimpse then I am more than proud.

(I'd best get out and take some more pictures soon then!)

Chester Zoo - Part 4: Monkeys I Nearly Missed

Well, I promised more Zoo, didn't I? I think I've got one more after this but these are pretty, well, interesting ones.  You see, I've no idea what it is but, I always find Monkeys and Apes in Zoo's really... well depressing. I’m sure the Zoo is doing everything it can to keep these animals comfortable and they're far safer in here than in the wild, unfortunately... maybe its just the fact that, obviously, the cages need to be fairly substantial for these animals and they always seem so, well, caged.

Maybe I'm being silly. As I say, I'm more than sure that the animals photographed are perfectly happy and comfortable. Me on the other hand, less so. Maybe it was also something to do with the droves of children bustling and shoving me out of the way to get a view of their peers. Oh well, but that's why there aren’t so may pictures here.

At any rate, here they are! Some of these aren't too bad and they're certainly... evocative.

Chester Zoo - Part 3: of a Feather...

Wow, that took ages!! Don't ever let anybody tell you that moving home is easy! Anyway, finally I'm  back and I have had 0 chance to go out and take more pictures... but that's fine because we can proudly finish off the summer (even though we are now well into autumn again) by carrying on with our Chester Zoo outing (that seems so long ago now. Does anyone remember the sun?)

Well, Butterflies is where we left of. So from one winged part of nature to another, this post we're going to focus on the hour or so I spent in and around Chester Zoo's bird house! Again, these were absolutely fantastic facilities and the birds are, without doubt, there in all their absolute splendour! So let’s not waste any more time!

And just like that, I'm back! It feels incredible to be posting again and I do sincerely apologies for being so lax recently. Anyway, lets focus on the positives! Huge thankyou to SMK for helping me identify some of these species (late on a Monday night) and for accompanying me to Chester Zoo that day, couldnt have done this without you! I'm getting through these pictures slowly! Got two more posts!
