Wow, that
took ages!! Don't ever let anybody tell you that moving home is easy! Anyway,
finally I'm back and I have had 0 chance to go out and take more
pictures... but that's fine because we can proudly finish off the summer (even
though we are now well into autumn again) by carrying on with our Chester Zoo
outing (that seems so long ago now. Does anyone remember the sun?)
Well,
Butterflies is where we left of. So from one winged part of nature to another,
this post we're going to focus on the hour or so I spent in and around Chester
Zoo's bird house! Again, these were absolutely fantastic facilities and the
birds are, without doubt, there in all their absolute splendour! So let’s not
waste any more time!
These
were all taken on 2018-06-05 at Chester Zoo. This post is all birds!
Enjoy!
Just spied this one's back thorugh the trees!
(Royal Starling)
Though it's front is far more striking!
(Royal Starling)
This colourful beaut was happy to sit and pose for a while!
(Nicobar Pigeon)
First a moving, arty, close up shot!
(Nicobar Pigeon)
Then it's my old favourite colourfilter again! First red!
(Nicobar Pigeon)
Blue!
(Nicobar Pigeon)
And brown. it was so colourful, how could I resist?
(Nicobar Pigeon)
Im so gutted about the light on this one but it was exteremly difficult even to get this through the wire fence.
(Yellow Breasted Chat)
The striking colour still comes through a bit... Maybe I'll start editing my pictures...
(Yellow Breasted Chat)
This one was just laughing at everyone going by. Oh well.
(Montserrat Oriole)
Suddenly stopped laughing...
(Montserrat Oriole)
Absolutely beautiful! Also, I genuinely didn't see her young one when I took this!
(Victorian Crowned Pigeon)
That deep red!
(Victorian Crowned Pigeon)
The mesh fance played havoc with these photos but this wasn't too bad.
(Great Hornbill)
Climbing my tree...
(Great Hornbill)
I think it spotted me!
(Great Hornbill)
Hmm, I really do wonder if I could edit that mesh away. Oh well. Beautiful Bird all the same!
(Von Der Decken Hornbill)
Thought the fence was quite effective here.
(Caribbean Flamingos)
Through the fence with more focus on the Flamingo.
(caribbean Flamingos)
Of course the colour filter came out. I felt this was really effective.
(Caribbean and Chilean Flamingos)
Looks almost depressing scrounging in the dirt.
(Caribbean Flamingo)
Water friends!
(Caribbean Flamingo and Mallard Ducks)
- "Why man, he doth bestride the narrow world like a colossus,
and we petty men walk under his huge legs, and peep about to find
ourselves dishonorable graves."
- –William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar
- (Caribbean Flamingo)
And just like that, I'm back! It feels incredible to be
posting again and I do sincerely apologies for being so lax recently. Anyway,
lets focus on the positives! Huge thankyou to
SMK for helping
me identify some of these species (late on a Monday night) and for accompanying
me to Chester Zoo that day, couldnt have done this without you! I'm getting through these pictures slowly! Got two
more posts!
Thankyou
so much for browsing. As always, and tips and comments are greatly appreciated.
Cya
soon!
