Whinfell Forest! Travelling for fun!

Whinfell Forest, in all its glory! I personally love this idyllic little hide-y place (brand name left out because please don't sue) and highly reccomend visiting it to everyone who happens to be reading this. Seriously, what are you doing? Go and book a holiday there!

My family and I traveled up there on the Friday, stayed for the weekend travelling back on the monday, and early on the saturday morning, about 8:00am I think, whilst the rest of my family were asleep or otherwise occupied I went for a coffee and a wander with my camera and, well, I'm pretty proud of some of these pictures!

So, without further ado, here's Whinfell Forest!
(Please don't sue. All I have to my name is 20p and a packet of MnM's, you can have one of them)

These pictures were all taken over several early hours on Saturday Morning 2017-09-02 on a beautifully clear yet slightly cold morning when everyone but me and a few joggers were still mostly asleep. Enjoy!

And there it is! Exactly what I traveled so many many miles for!

Saw this phone box as I arrived and I immediately thought up this shot. I'm so glad I got it!

The silver trees of Whinfell.

Close up berries. So glad I managed this.

They were so tall!

Portrait...

and landscape!

Love the different lighting in this one!

I was completely enthralled by the flowers in that morning light.

Grayed out the pink...

Grayed out the green. I think this one worked better.

Touches of 'flame' from the orange wood and morning light.

And here's the original! Which do you prefer?

Very very proud of this one!

And these! Maybe I should take more close-up pictures... That perfect silver morning light certainly helped.

You want yellow?

Morning mushrooms.... that sounded dodgy...

Being all 'arty' again...

Landscape 'arty-ness'. I remember seeing that branch and practically leaping at it with my camera.

Serene, peacfull lake in the morning. I could have stayed there for years... Hell, I could happily live in this forest!

Sparkling water!

The first orange leaf I saw this autumn and the only one I saw in that entire forest!

Autumn embers.

Silver and green. Who doesn't love that combination!

YES! You have no idea how hard it was or how long it took for me to get this picture! I quietly followed that feathery legend for soo long! (and this was the best picture I got)

Closer to the more tourist-y areas here. Still, I love trees in pinks/purples.

Ooh, so proud of this. Perfect crystalline water.

Field of pink.

Found more berries!

Another berry close-up.

I found a feather... couldn't resist being pretentious with it!

What else do I love? Random abandoned benches in the middle of nowhere!

What can I say? I experimented with the majority of the picture being out of focus. What do you think?

Little and large intertwined.

The golden path onwards... (I had been out several hours by this point. Think some of my family were still in bed)

Filtered out every colour but pink. Subtle but I think it works.

This is one of my favourites! It's like something from a Hitchcock film.

The blue in the woods.

Yep, I do a lot of colour filter stuff.

And the ground glows like fire on that freezing morning!

I stayed here for a while. It was perfectly serene. The only sound I could hear was the breeze.

Found another mushroom! Now what?

And that's just some of the pictures I took that weekend. I did do other stuff, mainly hang out with my family. But still, I am so glad I managed to get out and take these. I truly love this hobby. More pictures on the way soon!

Thanks for browsing! As always, any tips and comments are hugely appreciated.

Cya soon!
