An hour or so in Beacon Park

Summer! Wow, I really let spring slip by me, didn't I? Well, no matter, because I'm back now (just after the summer solstice... whoops) and I have quite a lot of post's lined up to write so do bear with me and I will gladly show you the new heights of summer I discovered this year.

But first, a little taste of the familiar with an ever smaller dash of something knew. Same tricks, new place. It's no great secret that I truly adore Rivington but all lives need variation and I'm eager to go to new places and do new things so lets start with the first, here's a new place; Beacon Park... also nearby. It's a small start and small change, true, but this is still a small blog so... yeah.

Beacon park is beautiful and can boast some fantastic views however, I was much more interested in looking down that day at all the vibrant life Spring had pulled from the ground to bask in Summer, flowers, wildlife and just so much green! However, I only had about an hour or so here so I didn't get a huge amount of pictures but, like I say, I have something spectacular just waiting for me to write it.

Without further ado, far far into summer with the solstice having now passed (I prefer "fashionably late") here's my first summer post!

These were all taken in Beacon Park on 2018-05-26. The weather was an absolutely scorching clear summer day, all taken around midday. Enjoy!

Had to start with an esoteric one!

Changed the angle a bit more to get more of the wooden path in. Which worked better?

There was water and a jetty, what did you expect?

That view demanded at least one shot of it, but couldn't leave the fore ground unpopulated.

Hmm, the difference in light might be a bit too intense in this one, what do you think?

Works better in gold and grey!

I have a thing for green...

I think the lower angle improved this phenomenally! This is one of my all time favourites!

Different generations.

The colour filter was intentional, the angle was a happy accident. I'm so proud!

There were so many flowers! I love singling out a vibrant colour.

Crowd shot

I experimented with different compositions, which do you think worked better?

You want yellow?

For a hippy used to taking pictures of trees which, you know, tend not to move, saying 'wildlife photography is a completely different ball game' is a huge understatement. Still, I'm quite proud of this one.

And one last shot of that plant! It deserved it!

Well, thats all for this time. I hope, if nothing else, you take this post as a token of my commitment to this blog, comitted to going to new further and further places for you and photographing more and more different things (whilst, hopefully, improving my skills). I truly truly love these moments when I can just dissapear into nature and being able to share that with you is simply indescribable.
Still, I can't wait to show you what I've got coming!

As always, any tips and comments are hugely appreciated!
Thank you so very much for browsing!
Cya soon!
